1. Click here to open the CHART: "The Black Box - Classifying the Causes of the Civil War."
2. Follow the directions on the chart. You may fill it out on the computer or by hand. You may either work on it on your own or with a partner. If you work on it with a partner, try to do it as a Google Document. If you need help with this, please ask.
3. Be sure to use color coding. After you get all the causes typed into the chart, you may go find pictures and insert them into appropriate places (slaves, plantation, slaves being whipped, map of Civil War, Harriet Beecher Stowe, Frederick Douglass, William Lloyd Garrison, etc., etc.).
